Physical Disconnection

Physical Disconnection Form

There are a few situations in which customers may require a meter to be physically removed from a property. The situations include a house fire, demolition, or house move.

Important Information:

  • If the power is reconnected at this address within the next 12 months, under the previous account, you will be billed the monthly minimum meter fees for that time period (up to 12 months).
  • If the power remains off for over 12 months, an electrical inspection will be required before power can be restored.
  • Minnesota Power will not be held responsible for any damage to the property due to the discontinuation of electric service.

If you require a physical meter disconnection for a property, download the form or call Minnesota Power at 1-800-228-4966.
