Minnesota Power is releasing a series of Requests for Proposals as part of the company’s broad resource evaluation process that informs its EnergyForward strategy. The company’s EnergyForward resource strategy calls for a diversified mix of power supply resources to meet customers’ needs reliably and cost effectively in an environmentally responsible manner.

The Request for Proposals include wind energy, solar energy, demand response, and customer self-generation. Minnesota Power will consider the costs and characteristics of the proposals received and analyze whether they are cost effective resource additions for our customers. Current RFPs

Wind Resource

Minnesota Power (MP), a division of ALLETE, Inc., is seeking power supply proposals for up to 300 MW of wind generation, including Community–Based Energy Development (C-BED). MP seeks cost-effective wind resources that utilize the Federal Production Tax Credit.

Minnesota Power (MP), a division of ALLETE, Inc., is seeking power supply proposals for 1 megawatt to 300 megawatts of solar generation, including Community-Based Energy Development (C-BED). The company seeks cost-effective solar resources that utilize Federal Tax Credits for solar projects on behalf of its customers.

Customer Demand Response

Minnesota Power (MP), a division of ALLETE, Inc., is seeking power supply proposals for up to a nominal 300 MW of demand response products located at a customer site where load is served by MP under the Large Power or Large Light and Power Service Schedule and the demand is greater than five (5) MW, beginning in the 2019 to 2023 timeframe.

Customer Co-Generation

Minnesota Power (MP), a division of ALLETE, Inc., has issued this Request for Proposals (RFP) and is seeking power supply proposals for up to a nominal 300 MW of capacity and unit-contingent energy from a co-generation facility owned and located at Minnesota Power retail customer currently served under the Large Power or Large Light and Power Service Schedule and the customer demand is greater than five (5) MW, beginning in the 2019 to 2023 timeframe.
