Customer Choice

Customers have a choice in contractors, including contractors that are not listed in the Minnesota Power's Networks (listed below). The Electrician Network signifies only that a contractor has participated in an annual training at Minnesota Power (MP) and MP has verified that the contractor is licensed, bonded and insured, in the state of Minnesota at the time the contractor joined the Electrician Network. The HVAC Contractor Network signifies only that MP has verified that the contractor is bonded in the state of Minnesota, at the time the contractor joined the HVAC Contractor Network.

MP encourages customers to conduct due diligence when hiring a contractor, including reviewing references, verifying credentials, reviewing the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry website, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Contractor Independence

Contractors participating in MP programs are independent from and are not employees, agents, representatives, or subcontractors of MP. MP is not affiliated with any contractor and does not oversee or control their work. Contractors are not authorized to speak for or make commitments on behalf of MP. Contractors are solely responsible for their work product, including obtaining necessary permits, complying with applicable laws and regulations, and ensuring the quality of their services.

No Warranty or Guarantee

Minnesota Power (MP) does not provide any warranty, guarantee, or assurance regarding the quality, performance, or reliability of any work or services performed by contractors participating in MP programs. All work performed by contractors is the sole responsibility of the contractor.

Contractor Licensing and Bonding

Electrician Network: MP conducts an initial and annual verification for licensure and bonding but does not guarantee or warrant that any contractor participating in its programs is continually licensed, bonded, or insured.

HVAC Contractor Network: MP conducts an initial and annual verification for bonding but does not guarantee or warrant that any contractor participating in its programs is continually bonded.

Customers are encouraged to independently verify the licensing, bonding, review the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry website, and insurance status of any contractor they choose to hire.

Liability Disclaimer

MP is not responsible for any actions, omissions, or obligations of contractors, including but not limited to improper installations, failure to obtain required permits, ineligibility for rebates, or damages resulting from contractor work. Customers agree that MP shall not be held liable for any claims, damages, or losses arising from contractor services.

Customer Feedback

If you have received exceptional or unsatisfactory service from a listed contractor, please report that to MP customer service, 218-355-2843. MP wants to know what contractors are doing well, and what contractors are failing to meet a customer's expectations so that MP may consider the contractor's eligibility for continued inclusion in the Electrician Network or HVAC Contractor Network.
