Join us to explore the Mississippi River Headwaters Watershed through time! This two-day K-12 teacher workshop (made possible by a generous Minnesota Power Foundation Grant) includes: lunch, snacks at breaks, transportation to destinations, a flash drive of teaching materials, and overnight lodging at Itasca State Park (a total value of ~$220/ teacher).
Session 1: June 10-11 (first 20 teachers registered are free)
Session 2: June 17-18 (first 20 teachers registered are free)

Workshop topics include:
- Formation of MN watersheds and glacial features
- Early inhabitants’ relationships to the watershed
- Trade, exploration, and beginning of logging history
- Recent historic lumbering to current forestry practices in the watershed
- Current industrial relationship with the watershed
During the workshop, guided visits will be made to Itasca State Park, Lake Bemidji State Park, Forest History Center, and MN Power Rapids Energy Center.
