About Our Region

Service Territory Map

Minnesota Power’s Economic Development Program serves businesses, communities and individuals within its sizeable service territory as well as working closely with businesses seeking to expand or relocate to somewhere within our service territory.

Our northland neighborhood is marvelously diverse. Anchored by a busy International Seaport, it encompasses thousands of acres of forest, several hundred pristine lakes and one of the richest iron ore deposits on earth. The natural resources with which we are blessed – timber and taconite predominant among them – continue to drive our economy. Shipment of wood products and minerals built us a link to international maritime trade via Lake Superior and the St. Lawrence Seaway. The natural environment we’ve long enjoyed has now transformed the region into a popular tourism destination and a gateway to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

For more than a century this has been a land of unlimited enterprise, of resourceful people carving out opportunities. Minnesota Power’s Economic Development Program is helping to make the most of these opportunities. We invite you to use this web site to learn more about the people and places that make our region a perfect location for business.
