GSHP Incentive Package

Available through June 30, 2012, subject to availability of rebate dollars.

Requirements to Participate:

• The heat pump must be installed in homes of Minnesota Power residential customers or customers of another participating utility on or before June 30, 2012. Note: This rebate offer only applies to new GSHP installations. If you are replacing an existing GSHP, please contact Andrea Dobbert at 800-677-8423 (opt. 2).


• The heat pump must meet (current) ENERGY STAR® standards.


• The heat pump must be installed by a program participating International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) accredited contractor.


• You may also request informational literature on the installation and operation of geothermal heat pumps from an IGSPHA accredited installer.
  
  

How do I take advantage of the Incentive Package?

1. Work with an program participating IGSHPA accredited installer who has a history of successful GSHP installations in this area. Each contractor must complete a pre-application, which is reviewed by a third party before a rebate is approved.


2. Your contractor will properly install the GSHP based on your expectations and explain how to operate and maintain it for optimum performance beyond energy savings. Remember to ask for the rebate on the ECM motor and the information required to qualify for the tax credit. Please talk with your accountant about the tax credit.


3. Please provide your contractor a copy of the Incentives Package Bonus Coupon. Your contractor will complete all the required paperwork to qualify you for the standard rebate + $50 per ton bonus and applicable $200 ECM rebate. Please allow 6−8 weeks for your rebate.

The sponsoring utilities reserve the right to withdraw the offer without notice. Rebate subject to homeowners working with a participating contractor and to contractor meeting performance standards. The contractor will file the rebate for you.
