Indian Summer Crabapple has a rounded crown
with an open branching habit. It has very showy rosy red flowers and
attractive glossy red fruit. The 1/2" fruit are very persistent.
Requirements and Culture:
Information provided for the species applies. Requires full sun, tolerant to a fairly wide range of soil conditions. Prune to remove suckers and watersprouts. Prune as young trees to develop good branch structure.
Limitations:
Good resistance to scab and excellent resistance to cedar-apple rust, mildew and fireblight.
