GREEN:Low Mature Height; Recommended for street tree plantings under electric lines or other areas where growing space above ground is limited. Also recommended for narrow planting lawns (less than 4' wide), planting squares or circles surrounded by concrete, large raised planting containers or other places where underground space for roots will not support large trunk diameters.

YELLOW: Medium Mature Height; Recommended for planting where the above ground and below ground growing space will allow thrity to forty-five foot mature height trees. Wide planting lawns or medians (4 - 8' wide), large planting squares (8' square or greater) and other open areas of at least 50' diameter.

RED: Large Mature Height; Recommended for streets without overhead restrictions where very wide planting lawns or medians (greater than 8') will allow for a large root system, trunk diameter and root flare. These large trees are also recommended for parks, meadows or other large open areas where their large size, both above and below ground, will not be restricted or cause damage or liability.
