What is the Insulate & Save Kit?
Did you know that more than half of the energy used in a typical Minnesota household is related to heating and cooling? As a home is heated in the winter or cooled in the summer, a portion of that conditioned air is lost due to air leakage through the walls, ceilings, and other areas of the building shell. The best way to conserve energy, save money, and enhance the comfort of a home is to seal those leaks and insulate to slow the heat loss through walls and ceilings. By installing the items provided in this kit, you will be on your way to tightening up your home and realizing the benefits of a more energy efficient home.
How to Get Your Insulate & Save Kit
- To get your FREE Insulate & Save kit in the mail, simply complete this online form.
- You will be required to enter an event code. If you have not been provided an event code elsewhere, please use INSULATEKIT.
- Your kit will arrive in six to eight weeks.
- The kit must be installed in a home serviced by Minnesota Power.
- You must have electric heat to qualify for this kit.
- You are eligible for an Insulate & Save Kit once every two years.
The Insulate & Save Kit includes:
- Self-adhesive door sweep
- Outlet and light switch foam gaskets
- Window insulation kit
- V-Seal adhesive-backed weather stripping
