Learn & Earn
Minnesota Power is committed to partnering with area students, teachers, and schools to achieve conservation and scholastic goals. Through programs like Learn & Earn, students are challenged to explore and promote the economic and environmental benefits of energy conservation. In addition, Minnesota Power offers rebates and incentives to individual schools through the One Business program to assist with improving the energy efficiency of school facilities. When one school embraces conservation, teachers, parents, and the community will follow—each school has the power to make a difference.
Minnesota Power is always exploring new ways to spread the word about energy conservation. We’ve developed a comprehensive school-based program that educates students about how to save energy while raising funds for school projects.
These events are designed to build school and overall community awareness about the economic and environmental benefits of saving energy through classroom education, the promotion and sales of energy-efficient products, and community involvement.
"Learn & Earn was a wonderful project for our school and communities. The program allowed students from the National Honor Society to go into the classroom and interact with students, learn about energy conservation, and promote CFL light bulbs. It was an all around great experience.”

If your school is interested in organizing a Learn & Earn event, please complete a Learn & Earn application and submit it to the address indicated on the application. Minnesota Power personnel will review the submitted applications and up to three schools will be chosen as Learn & Earn sites. Selected schools can provide a valuable service to the community and at the same time raise money for a school activity and educate students about the value of energy conservation.
